Acropolis and Ancient Agora Tour
The Acropolis and Ancient Agora Tour begins nearby Acropolis area and the Acropolis Museum. With your tour guide you are going to walk in the pedestrian streets of Makrigianni and Dionysus Areopagitou str., nearby Plaka (WC is available).
We enter Acropolis from the south slope to skip the lines and avoid the crowds. Your ascent here begins while you are taking in the spectacular views of the city belo . You will visit the theatre of Dionysus, Asclepius Sanctuary and adore the Concert Hall of Herodes Atticus. Reaching Acropolis top point, your guide will give you a detailed explanation of the glorious monuments such as, the Parthenon, the Erechtheion, the Propylaia, the Nike Temple, the Beule Gate, the Observatory, the Philopappos and the Mars and Pnyx Hills.
Your first part of the tour finishes in the viewpoint of Acropolis and you will have free time to explore the hill on your own (WC is available).
After your free time break, you will continue your walking tour towards Ancient Agora. The ancient agora is the cradle of ancient democracy with a marvelous museum of the ancient history in the reconstructed Stoa of Attalus by the money of the sponsor Rockefeller back in the 1950s. Inside the Agora (marketplace) we will see the church of Saints Apostles (11th A.C.E.), the Panathenian way, the palace of the Giants and the temple of Hephaestus. At last you will walk towards the modern historical city of Athens, Monastiraki square and Plaka area, that you can have you lunch break.
